Lincoln has current lineup that the luxury sedan division isn’t quite be sure. But the 2011 Lincoln MKX is clear progress in what we think will be the right direction in the long run.
MKX’s front fascia integrates the brand’s complex twin-grille design much more favorably than the automaker’s Ford Fusion-based MKZ. In contras to more upright and conventional designs from Germany, the tail end is simplified with a pair of high-mounted horizontal lamps.
The Lincoln MKX’s old 3.5-liter V6 and in its place is a thoroughly modern 3.7-liter V6 with Ford’s twin independent variable cam timing. In this application, it cranks out a solid 305 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. Both front and all-wheel-drive models are available, all mated to a six-speed automatic with a manual-style shift gate. so Lincoln might just be able to carve out a niche with conservative models that nonetheless offer up a serving of genuine luxury and technology.
