Hyundai Genesis Coupe Preview a Production Model at SEMA

Hyundai has a limited-run production version of the Rhys Millen Racing RM500 Genesis Coupe at the 2011 SEMA Show.

The Genesis Coupe also gets a number of carbon-fiber pieces, including a front spoiler and rear side skirts. With 5.0-liter Tau V8 engine from the Genesis and Equus sedans. Modifications resulted in a 20-horsepower boost to 450 hp. It also gets a custom RMR stainless exhaust with GReddy rear muffler and titanium tips, oil cooler and rear differential cooler. Many of the parts on the showcar will be sold by Rhys Millen Racing.

“All I can say is we’re really excited at how cleanly and easily Rhys got the (V8) engine to fit,” said Miles C. Johnson, a Hyundai Motor America spokesman in a phone conversation on Wednesday with Inside Line. “Anything is possible.”

The SEMA car cost between $80,000-$100,000, Johnson said when asked to ballpark the price.
