BMW ActiveHybrid 5 launched in Tokyo

BMW has the ActiveHybrid 5 features the BMW 5 Series Sedan’s sporty and elegant body design but with various additional touches which draw attention to its special drive technology.

The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 offers an exceptionally good balance between performance and fuel consumption. The drive system the car features a lithium-ion battery, a 306 PS (225 kW / 302 hp) turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine and a 56 PS (40 kW / 55 hp) electric motor. This gives the AH5 a combined maximum output of 340 PS (250 kW / 335 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.

The ActiveHybrid 5 comes with the same choice of interior colours, seat upholstery and interior trim as the other BMW 5 Series Sedan versions. Additional standard-fitted luxury features include the Professional navigation system, 4-zone automatic climate control and stationary air conditioning. The result is an extremely well-integrated overall system which convincingly showcases the benefits of BMW ActiveHybrid technology out on the road. Needless to say, all the new hybrid components are designed to last the life of the vehicle.
